Nationally syndicated radio talk host Dave Ramsey said it best when he said “It’s just plain rude to die without a will”, and I couldn’t have said it better myself.  Whether you call me to help set up a will or estate, or do it yourself, I can’t stress the importance of getting something set up so that in the event of something terrible happening to you, you at least won’t leave a mess behind for your heirs.

Dying without a will is called dying “intestate“, and to die intestate means that your heirs have very little control over what they should have rightfully inherited.  Instead, the state gets to decide how your assets will be divided.
